Taittinger Demi-Sec
Taittinger Demi-Sec
The Taittinger Demi-Sec champagne has nice small and persistent bubbles. The aroma is full of ripe fruit, flowers and honey. It is a sweet and lively Champagne with a lovely taste of tangerines, pickled peaches and dried figs. All in all, it is a Demi Sec that possesses great charm and sensuality.
The champagne can be recommended as an aperitif, fresh fruit and chocolate desserts.
A little about Taittinger; Champagne Taittinger was founded in 1734 and is thus the 3rd oldest still existing Champagne house, which is also owned and managed by the Taittinger family. Top quality and respect for traditions are a very high priority at Champagne Taittinger, which owns 288 hectares of vineyards in the best area of Champagne. This ensures a steady supply of top quality grapes for the production of delicate, well-balanced Champagne. Taittinger's cellars are located under St. Nicaise monastery, which in the 13th century belonged to Benedictine monks. The monks used the cellars to store their wines. These cellars are all that remains of the abbey, as it was destroyed during the French Revolution. Today, as mentioned, the cellars are used by Taittinger, and here they have a total capacity of approx. 22 million bottles.
