Dom Perignon Vintage 2010

Dom Pérignon makes legendary champagnes, which is known worldwide. This is for good reason, because quality is not compromised here, and therefore new bottles are only produced in years when the grapes are absolutely ideal and when the harvest has had the best conditions. Dom Pérignon offers exclusively vintage champagne, i.e. that the champagne is produced from the harvest from a single year. The champagne house Moët & Chandon owns Dom Pérognon, which is the house's top cuvée. The first production of Dom Pérignon took place in 1921, and was released in 1936.

This is their Vintage 2010 which for many was a surprise that they even chose to do, because the year was difficult. But without a doubt they have succeded to make a great vintage champagne. The scent is sweet and exudes tropical fruits such as green mango, melon and pineapple. They subside and more tempered notes of orange peel and tangerine emerge. After some time in the glass, its freshness and tactile and sensuous notes of peony, jasmine and sorrel are revealed.

Already at the first sip, you sense the fullness and intensity of the champagne. It is juicy and generous, and you sense spices and pepper in the taste. The aftertaste is very long, and you sense a hint of salt. It will be very interesting to taste how this champagne will develop over the next years. This is a great vintage to drink now, but can also be held in your cellar for more development.

Comments from tasting:

"I just tasted the 2010 Dom Perignon with winemaker Vincent chaperon and I was so impressed with the wines precision and balance with a dryness to complement of subtle tropical fruits and pie crust. So drinkable now but will age beautifully. 98 points"
